The Income Statement Template for Excel is a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet for
practitioners who wish to perform their own valuation and analysis but don't
wish to invest the significant time necessary to create the financial
statements.
It is designed to accommodate three periods of data, which can be entered from a
firm's 10-K or 10-Q report (10-K and 10-Q reports are publicly available reports
detailing a company's financial position). The spreadsheet comes pre-configured
to accept the most popular income statement categories, and is easily expandable
by anyone with a basic knowledge of Excel.
A common-size income statement is automatically calculated based on the input
from the 10-K and 10-Q reports. (Common-size income statements are used to show
the percentage of total revenues represented by each item in the income
statement.)
Date and number fields may be re-formatted by the user (using Excel's built-in
formatting capabilities) to accommodate non-US conventions.
The Income Statement Template for Excel is an excellent tool to use as a basis
for business valuation. Combined with the

Excel and the

valuation model. Or, begin using a world-class valuation model "out-of-the-box"
