The Income Statement Template for Excel is a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet for practitioners who wish to perform their own valuation and analysis but don't wish to invest the significant time necessary to create the financial statements.

It is designed to accommodate three periods of data, which can be entered from a firm's 10-K or 10-Q report (10-K and 10-Q reports are publicly available reports detailing a company's financial position). The spreadsheet comes pre-configured with the most popular income statement categories, and is easily expandable by anyone with a basic knowledge of Excel.

A common-size income statement is automatically calculated based on the input from the 10-K and 10-Q reports. (Common-size income statements are used to show the percentage of total revenues represented by each item in the income statement.)

Date and number fields may be re-formatted by the user (using Excel's built-in formatting capabilities) to accommodate non-US conventions.

All recent Microsoft operating systems are supported, including Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows 2000, Windows ME, Windows CE, Windows XP and Vista. Windows Mobile 5.0 and 6.0 are also supported, provided you have Microsoft Excel or Documents-To-Go installed on your mobile device.

It is also fully-compatible with MAC OS and OS X. You must be running Excel 2004 or 2008 for Mac.
