The Balance Sheet Template for Open Office is an Open Office Calc template for
practitioners who wish to perform their own valuation and analysis but don't
wish to invest the significant time necessary to create the financial
statements.
It is designed to accommodate three periods of data, which can be entered from a
firm's 10-K or 10-Q report (10-K and 10-Q reports are publicly available reports
detailing a company's financial position). The spreadsheet comes pre-configured
to accept the most popular asset and liability categories, and is easily
expandable by anyone with a basic knowledge of Open Office Calc.
A common-size balance sheet is automatically calculated based on the input from
the 10-K and 10-Q reports. (Common-size balance sheets are used to show the
percentage of total assets and liabilities represented by each item in the
balance sheet.)
Date and number fields may be re-formatted by the user (using Open Office
Calc's built-in
formatting capabilities) to accommodate non-US conventions.
The Balance Sheet Template for Open Office is an excellent tool to use as a
basis for business valuation.
This Open Office template was developed by a CFA charterholder.
- Save time by using a pre-designed template as
a basis for your analysis.
- Reduce formula
errors caused when practitioners try to "figure out" the calculations used
in the 10-K and 10-Q reports. The calculations are already done for you.
-
Save money by spending your time on running your business or performing
valuations instead of creating financial statements.
-
Date and number fields may be re-formatted by the user (using Open Office
